These brussels sprouts are the perfect pair to any dish. They’re perfectly crunchy and sweet, with a little spicy kick! Brussels sprouts are a cruciferous vegetable that are high in fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin K which both play a role in bone health. This recipe is a no-fail crowd pleaser, and a perfect way to turn anyone onto loving this dark green veggie!

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups brussels sprouts (cut into 1/4’s)

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven: 400 degrees F

  • Large mixing bowl: mix oil, maple syrup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili flakes. Set aside

  • Chop brussels sprouts into 1/4, lengthwise. Add to bowl with spices and oil

  • Lay brussels sprouts, in a single layer, on a lined baking sheet

  • Bake for about 25 minutes, or until desired crunchiness  :)

NOTES ON THE RECIPE

  • Optional topping: sliced almonds or parmesan cheese!
