These roasted chickpeas make up the perfect snack! Chickpeas are legumes, a good source of plant based protein, complex carbohydrates, and fiber! They have a lower glycemic index, meaning they do not spike your blood sugar and are a good choice for those with diabetes or anyone looking to manage their weight. Canned chickpeas are budget friendly and when roasted, they get super crunchy like a chip! It’s a great snack while on-the-go, in your house, or can be a delicious topping to any salad! Here’s how I like to spice them up!
INGREDIENTS

1 can of chickpeas (15 oz can)

1 tbsp avocado oil

1/8 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp paprika
DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

Open can of chickpeas, rinse, and let dry for a crispier roast

In a medium sized bowl mix together oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika

Once chickpeas are dried, add to bowl and mix all together

Lay chickpeas on sheet pan and roast for ~20 minutes until desired crunchiness
Notes on the Recipe:
You can spice these chickpeas up anyway you’d like! Try adding cayenne pepper or chili flakes for a spicier snack
